How to Build a Lower Body Week That Actually Works
A simple weekly framework for glute and leg development — volume, recovery and the compound lifts worth prioritising.
Most lower body programmes fail for the same reason: too much intensity, not enough structure. Progress comes from repeating quality work across weeks, not from chasing a new personal best every session.
Start with two dedicated lower body days separated by at least 48 hours. Anchor each session with one heavy compound — squat, hip thrust, Romanian deadlift or split squat — then build accessory volume around it.
Track your working sets. If you can add a rep or a small increment week over week, the programme is working. If not, look at sleep, protein and total weekly volume before adding more sessions.
